MY MOM !!!!
It's been almost six years since I lost my Mom....She would have been 105 years old today. We have so many wonderful memories. She was always there for me. when Becky was tiny she would sew for her, she made some beautiful outfits for her. While she lived with us she and Gene were the best of friends. They would stick together against me in most disagreements we had. She loved to go with us in the motor home until she reach the age that it frightened her, so we didn't do much traveling in the motor home after that. She did love to go with us to visit our Children and their families and loved each one so very much. She was with us 28 years and we can't say everything was a bed of roses but if we had the opportunity we would do it again.
She was a very special lady. She held many calling in both the ward and stake. While Gene was bishop she was his personal secretary. People from the ward would call for his work number and she would screen the calls. When we lived in Spokane and they had the mail bomb threats during the days of the SLA , she really enjoyed guarding the mail.. In Spokane we had a wind that filled the yard with big tumble weeds. Gene had to be out of town for the week and he said that he would have them moved on the next weekend. When the week end rolled around the weeds were gone. The handle of the rake was also burned almost in to. Meam had held each weed down with the rake and Becky touched a match to it. We lived in rather thick timber and there was a strict fire ordinance. We had to laugh at how sheepish the two looked when they explained what had happened. I'm sure that our three and others have lots of memories. I wanted to put some pictures on but had some problems, so will try another time.
