Julie-Jacob and five came to visit Saturday..They were here with us a few hours then we all went over to Sharon & Bruce's for dinner..which was delicious --had a good visit and took some pictures.
Grandpa had a Heart Echo and they found he wasn't getting enough blood through his heart. So he is taking a pill morning and night... Sure hope it does wonders, he is wanting to get working in the yard. Isaac called this morning, they will be down to see us in a few days.. Its been much to long since we have seen them... My hand is doing better every day. One of the stitches that was suppose
to dissolve--didn't.. so my guy pulled it out--per the doctors nurse... Still having cold weather with wind...We might just skip spring..
Back again......w/the HELP of Melissa and Becky---I had hit a wrong key and lost everything...

Lazy Days

It seemed like forever, but the day finely arrived when we got our car back from the repair shop. It really looks nice. It had a big dimple in the trunk and a crushed back bumper. The thing that took so long was the paint which is a pearl color. It takes three layers and each had to be completely dry before they could put on the next one. After we picked up our car Joan drove it to the rental place that had rented us a car. The insurance paid for the rental . Joan was going to follow me because she wasn't quite certain where the place was. As it turned out, I turned out about a hundred yards from the place. She went on down to the Rental store to wait for her lost lamb. She then walked back to Bruce's office which was about a hundred yards and he walked with her back to the rental store. All is well that ends well.
I have contracted a deep cough and developed a pain through the right side of my chest, so I went to the Dr. yesterday. I drew the PA that is in our ward. He is a good man, but a little unsure of himself. He gave me a prescription for the cough, but wanted an X-Ray of my back. I took the prescription for the X=Ray and went around to back side of the building to get the X=Ray. It will be two weeks before I can get one.
On the other hand it was a beautiful sunshiny day. Joan's hand and arm are doing quite well. One day her hand hurts and the next day her arm aches. She smiles and bares the pain.
I have a question for Traci. What in the world is a Georgia School. You mentioned inviting people to a Georgia School. That is quite a way from Bloomington, Isn't it?
Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to get clear up into the high fifties and I expect to get my Sweet Peas set out. We are going to change some bushes out front and put in a larger patch of Pansies.
Joan is rapidly getting back to her old self and doing more work around the house than she should. But she is everything to me and she is the best medicine I could have. Love all of you Bruno.

Llazy Days

Well the big day arrived yesterday and I took Joan to Bountiful to have the cast removed. I wondered what kind of a saw they would use. The nurse pulled a vacuum can over to the table, It was something like a Shop Vac. except this had a hose with a tiny saw on the end. She explained to Joan where she was going to cut and quickly made to cuts. One on each side of the cast. I was curious about that saw. The blade was round and about two inches in diameter. She showed me that it was strictly a vibration that cut through the cast. The only way it could hurt is if it got onto the skin and the vibration could cause a burn . She had put on a load of bandage when she put the cast over it and the saw never went into the bandage. I'll bet that thing would be great on sheet rock. Well she was careful not to bother the little pearl that held the metal rod (that's what the Dr. called it) The Dr. removed the white pearl and left about a half inch of the metal rod sticking out of her wrist. He picked up a pair of pliers and pulled the metal rod out of her wrist. I was about the size of a large needle. When it was out of her wrist it was about three inches long. He said the wrist and hand looked great. It didn't look that great to me, but I am not a DR. The nurse gave her a brace to slip on and off of her hand. She already had one at home. The Dr. looked at his calendar and noted that his cadillac payment was due in two weeks, so he told Joan to come back in two weeks and then she will have to go back two weeks after that.
Her hand is doing well. she has a ton of dry skin to remove with lotion. The pain is gone and that is what counts.
We enjoyed Tony and Becky's short visit last night. They left about eight this morning. Becky and Lori will be back Thursday and stay until next Tuesday. we are looking forward to that. Tony and Kevin had to go back on Thursday.
My sweet peas are about ten inches high and I want to get them out of the kitchen today and plant them outside. They can stand a lot of cold weather and should have been planted last October. They are taking up a lot of space on the counter. My pansies are about an inch high and it will take another week or so to put them outside.
That is about all that is happening in our household. When DJ gets here I am going to have him finish the wiring of the light on our flag as well as replace all of the batteries in the smoke alarms. Hope all of you have a happy day. Love ya Bruno.

Lazy days

We are looking forward to having DJ and Sheridan and the girls here for a great visit. There isn't much that needs to be worked on, but I do want DJ to measure for some more cabinets. If the weather is right I might also talk him into taking one set of prongs off of the roto tiller and plow up some flower beds close to the fence. But mostly I would like to see he and Sheridan get some rest. Yesterday I went to Dr. Halliday and had my feet worked over. They are numb almost from the toes to my heels. A ninety day supply of the capsules he prescribes run just under five hundred dollars. Sure glad you tax payers are so willing to pay for them. Next Monday Joan gets her cast off and I will sure be glad. We had a little rain today and believe it or not, we needed it. The ground was getting dry. That wind pulls the moisture right out of the ground. Tomorrow, if it is dry enough, I am goingto set out seeet Peas. All is well with us and I hope all is well with each of you.

Lazy days

It has been a couple of days since I have put anything on this blog. That is a little silly to say that because all you have to do is look at the blog and you can tell that I have missed some time. Today has been lovely. 60 degrees in Salt Lake and I think that is about what it is here. We have some more storms coming starting Thursday so I wont have to turn the water on the yard.

I had an appointment with Dr. Halliday at 11:20 Am and got into the examining room at 12:30 PM. He had all kinds of excuses, but he worked my feet over and that helps. I have had lots of experience with doctors over the past month. Dr. Abarca sent me to Salt Lake to a specialist. I just as well have saved the money because he said the same thing Dr. Abarca said. He is a young doctor and hasn't had much, if any, work with Atrail fibrilation. Well My heart was in fibrilation and this young guy listened to my heart several times. I could tell he didn't have much experience with this sort of thing. My main concern was the cancer that my blood test said I had. He said they weren't going to treat it because it was slow growing and my heart would get me first. He said another reason they weren't going to treat it is I am too old and it would be a waste of good medication.

Joan and I both had a cold and it became very grievous. We went to the Dr. at about 8:00 PM and the PA living in our ward was on duty. My heart was again in fibrilation and when that happens it is very difficult to get a reading for blood pressure.. The heart starts skipping beats and one Dr. said it was only emptying out about 50%. The cardiologist said that is about what any heart pumps out. The nurse tried to get a readin and gave up. The PA came in and tried twice to get a reading and also gave up. He did call a couple of days later to see if we were OK. Tow cardiologists said it does not hurt my heard and the muscle is real good. I don't understand that. I was told that if my heart hadn't been so strong when the DR. gave me too many water pills that I might not have made it. Oh well so goes the battle.

Last night for home evening Bruce and Spencer came over. I had a four course meal. I had made split pea soup with ham and had let it simmer all day. It was good. Bruce and Spencer each had two bowls. Of course they thought that was all I had for dinner. I then put on the salad of lettice and tomatoes, after they were getting well filled I brought on the fried chicken and the mashed potatoes. We then had the lesson (which I taught) It was Pres. Hinckley's Testimony of Christ . I then served a home made pumpkin pie covered with cool whip. I tell you it was beautiful.

Tomorrow we have to go over to Provo for a final check on my hearing aids. The warrenty is up on the 31st. Love all of you people. GG and Bruno

Lazy days

What a gorgeous morning we have here in God's country. The sun is shinning in a very blue sky. The temperature is above freezing. The snow is glistening on the Stansbury mountains and the snow still lays on our Oqurra mountains. (My spelling is a little off.)

I got out of bed this morning to this gorgeous setting. I went outside to drink in the beauty and run old glory up the flag pole. The sun shinning on the red and white stripes glistened and gave a tingle up my back. I thanked the Lord for the beautiful little spirits he has sent to our family. I stood and looked at the flag for a moment and thought of all it means. In that moment I felt that nothing could go wrong. It was then I stepped backward right into a rose bush. The thrill turned into the realization that rose thorns are very sharp. I then stepped off of the concrete slab that holds the flag pole and found the flower bed had not dried out. The mud didn't quite make it to the top of my shoe;, but it tried. I limped over to the patio and refused to let a few rose thorns and some mud ruin the feeling I have.

I stood on the patio and looked at the yard to see if I could make any changes in the flowers, but they are just right. I had always dreamed of the flag pole with the lilacs on one side and the roses on the other and that is what we have. I returned to the house to see Joan's beautiful smile that always sends thrills up my spine, and toped the morning off with French toast.

Burned the beans

Today has been a beautiful day, but it is still a little cold. I had a Dr's appointment and joan went with me. She is my ears most of the time. I have been having some hip trouble and wanted to find out about it. The x-rays show that it is just one of the Ritus boys, I think it was Arthur. We did some shopping at Wal-Mart and then came home. Joan tried to keep her eyes open, but finally gave up and went to bed for a nap before I prepare some dinner. Yesterday I went outside and cut some of last years stalks from my fall flowers. A few days ago I put two pans of flowers out in the sun. It seemed so warm right in front of the garage door. I hadn't planned on the breeze and everyone of them froze. I started some more seeds and they are coming up real good.

Jpam's arm is coming along pretty good. She has eleven mor days and the cast comes off. she is looking forward to that glorious event. We will both be free of any immediate illness for a while. After the cast comes off She will have some work done on her left wrist. You can hear the bones click together. It is a little sore also.

Well Sunday starts a new daylight saving time for 2008. I hate to see it come because now in place of me getting up at eleven for breakfast, I will get up at noon.

I think I told everyone how I miss the hollidays. I am not kidding. When I was working, there was a certain thrill about having an extra day off, but now I have them all off and the thrill is gone. We look forward to seeing all of you in the near future. Love Mom and dad.
